The short version

1 Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using Meals at Home (the "app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. If you're using the app on behalf of a household or family, you're confirming you have the authority to agree to these terms for that use.

2 The service

Meals at Home helps you plan weekly dinners, browse meal ideas, and keep track of what your household has cooked. It doesn't require an account, and your household, plan, and history data is stored locally on your device — see our Privacy Policy for the details.

We may add, change, or remove features over time — including moving some features behind an optional paid "Pro" tier — and we'll do our best to keep the core planning experience free.

3 Nutrition & dietary information

Meals at Home shows dietary tags (like "vegetarian," "kid-friendly," or allergy-related labels) and other dish-level descriptions to help you filter and organize meal ideas. These are provided as a general, organizational aid only — not as verified nutritional, allergen, or medical information.

Always verify against the actual recipe. Ingredients, preparation methods, and cross-contamination risk vary by the specific recipe, brand, and substitutions you actually use. Before cooking or serving a dish — especially for food allergies, intolerances, or any medically managed diet — check the real ingredient list and preparation steps for the recipe you're using, not just the tag or label shown in the app.

Meals at Home is not a medical, dietetic, or nutrition service, and nothing in the app is intended as medical advice. If you or someone you're cooking for has a serious allergy or medical dietary restriction, consult a qualified healthcare professional and the recipe's actual ingredient list — not app tags — before eating.

4 Your content

Meal names, notes, and recipe links you enter in the app ("your content") stay on your device and belong to you. We don't claim ownership over it, and — because it isn't transmitted to us — we don't have a copy of it to use for anything.

5 Acceptable use

Please don't use the app to:

  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app beyond what's permitted by applicable law
  • Interfere with the app's operation or attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems that support it
  • Use the app in a way that violates any applicable law

6 Third-party links & services

The app lets you save external recipe links you find elsewhere, and its Pro waitlist opens an external form hosted by Tally. We don't control, and aren't responsible for, the content, accuracy, or availability of recipe links you save or any other third-party site the app links out to — that includes the accuracy of any nutrition or allergen information on those pages, which falls under Section 3 above.

Downloading the app also means you've agreed to your app store's own terms (Apple's or Google's), which apply alongside these.

7 Intellectual property

The app, including its design, "Mah" character and branding, and underlying code, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms don't grant you any rights to our branding or trademarks beyond normal use of the app itself.

8 Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including — to the fullest extent permitted by law — implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any dietary tag, suggestion, or content will be accurate or suitable for your specific needs.

9 Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app — including, without limitation, any adverse reaction, allergic reaction, or health outcome resulting from a meal prepared using information from the app. Your use of the app, and any decisions you make about what to cook or eat, are your own responsibility.

10 Termination

You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it, which also removes your locally stored data. We may modify or discontinue all or part of the app at any time, though we'll try to give reasonable notice for any significant change.

11 Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above, and — for significant changes — make a reasonable effort to bring it to your attention in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12 Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where applicable consumer protection law in your own jurisdiction requires otherwise.
